Installing Rental maps on Moov and Spirit 4xx / 6xx Devices

QUICK STEPS

  1. Download the map file from the link in your email and save the file to (My) Documents > My Maps.
  2. Connect your device to the PC and turn it on.
  3. Open MioMore Desktop.
  4. If you are offered any updates via MioMore Desktop please download and install these.
  5. Go to Unlock features > Enter the Activation Key sent to you by email > Continue.
  6. Select Downloadable Map ISO and click Browse.
  7. Locate the map ISO file saved in the (My) Documents > My maps folder, select the file and click Open > Continue.
  8. Select the region to activate and click Continue > Finish.
  9. Go to My maps and open the map file (MapData).
  10. Under My Mio > Remove the maps currently installed on your Mio.
  11. Under Map Source > Make a selection of the countries/time zones you would like to install > click Install maps > Transfer now.
  12. Go to My subscriptions > Recover subscriptions.
    Helpful hint: Maps that are deleted from the device can be reinstalled anytime in the future.

In more detail
Please ensure that you have installed MioMore Desktop from the DVD supplied with your device and that you have removed the disc from your DVD drive for this map installation process.
If you don't have MioMore Desktop installed, you can download it from HERE.

  1. Download the map file from the link in your email and save the file to (My) Documents > My Maps.
  2. Connect your device to your PC and turn it on.
  3. Open MioMore Desktop.
  4. If you are offered any updates via MioMore Desktop please download and install these.
  5. Select the Installer Language and follow the instructions in the Installation Wizard to install the software updates.
  6. Go to Unlock Features.
  7. Enter the Activation Key sent to you by email..
  8. Select Downloadable Map ISO and click Browse.
  9. Locate the map ISO file saved in the (My) Documents > My maps folder, select the file and click Open.
  10. Click Continue.
  11. Select the region to activate and click Continue.
  12. Click Finish.
  13. Go to My maps and open the map file (MapData).
  14. Under My Mio > Tick Europe and click Remove maps > Yes.
  15. Under Map Source > Europe > Select the countries/time zones you would like to install.
  16. Click Install maps > Transfer now.
  17. When the maps have finished transferring click Close.
  18. Go to My subscriptions > Recover subscriptions > Yes.
  19. When done, click Finish.
  20. Close down MioMore Desktop.
  21. Disconnect the device.

More info
It is possible that your device does not have enough memory to store all the maps at once, for example, the USA & Canada rental map is over 2GB in size.
If so, you will have to make a selection of the maps you would like to install, and remove some maps from your device, which are not needed. Maps that are deleted from the device can be re-installed anytime in the future.
