What is a G-sensor?
Our MiVue 6 series devices all come with a built in G-sensor which will measure the movement of your vehicle through 3 axis: forwards and backwards, up and down, left and right.
The drive recorder uses the G-sensors to detect significant or sudden movement and will automatically lock the video file being produced at the time, meaning that any footage is saved as an Emergency Recording in the EMER folder.
While this function will safeguard any genuine incidents, ranging from crashes and collisions to heavy braking and swerving, it can also be triggered by potholes, speed-bumps and other minor incidents. Please ensure you adjust the G-sensor sensitivity settings to your preference by selecting Menu > Video Recording > G-Sensor Sensitivity.
Event recording
If you want to manually start an event recording while in continuous recording mode, tap the Event/Share button (orange button). The event recordings can be found in the 'Emergency' category for file playback.
If there is not enough space on your memory card, new video clips will replace old ones.
Please note: The MiVue 600 device comes with a built in G-sensor which will trigger emergency recordings. However it is not possible to view the G-sensor information within MiVue Manager and so you will see the message 'Your device does not support the g-sensor function' when viewing your recordings. The ability to view the G-sensor information within MiVue Manager will not be added in future updates for the MiVue 600.
