Battery drained when device is not in use

If you've not been using your device and the battery has run flat, it could be because your device is in standby mode.

Once you complete your journey and disconnect the car charger, the following message will appear on screen:

"The device will power off automatically after 10 seconds.

Do you want to use it No/Yes."

"No" will turn the device OFF

"Yes" will keep your device on STANDBY mode, this will eventually cause the device to lose it's battery power.

To avoid draining the battery, follow the steps:

  1. Push the power button once which will turn the screen back on again.
  2. Press and hold the power button for a couple seconds until the screen will turn completely black.

Please note:
As expected of all types of electronic devices, if your device is not connected to external power it will eventually, over a long period of time, lose its battery charge even if turned off completely.
If you are not going to use your GPS for a lengthy period, it is best to charge it at least once a month. It is recommended to store the unit with 40% battery capacity.
