Troubleshooting GPS Issues

If you are experiencing issues such as:

  • Receiving a message on your Cyclo ''Unable to calculate the route because maximum distance of 200km reached''.
  • Your saved or uploaded recording has an incorrect time/date.
  • When starting a recording, your Cyclo records location data that does not accurately represent your activity.
  • Whilst recording your Cyclo shows incorrect dashboard information.
  • Your Cyclo is experiencing intermittent GPS signal issues whilst cycling outside

  • Please note: We have released a new OS update, version R55, to help improve the GPS first fix time and signal strength. Please connect your device to CycloAgent, using the micro USB cable supplied in the box, and accept the R55 update which will be offered. Once installed, please then perform a GPS reset by pressing and holding down the POWER + LAP keys - you will see the ''GPS reset...'' message for a few seconds, then the device will reboot automatically
(Applicable for Cyclo 4xx/6xx/Discover/Discover Plus only).
Please ensure you have set a correct GPS fix before recording or starting navigation.

In order to do so, please take your Cyclo and power it ON outside in the open, with a clear view of the sky, and wait a few moments for the device to pick up a GPS signal (this may take up to 15 min).
Please note some areas may effect GPS reception between your device and the satellites i.e. areas with high-rise buildings, dense trees, steep hillsides or even heavy cloud cover.

To ensure that your device has successfully connected to a GPS satellite/GPS fix you can go to Settings -> Where Am I to check the GPS signal strength and how many satellites your Cyclo is connected to.
If you are unable to connect to a GPS signal, even after following the above suggestion, we recommend performing a hardware RESET of your Cyclo by pressing and holding both the Power + Start/Stop button at the same time until the device goes blank and restarts (Applicable for Cyclo 4xx/6xx/Discover/Discover Plus only).
