Missing codecs
To properly play videos on MiVue manager an appropriate codec is required. Codecs are information required by video players to play different types of video files. In the same way that a dictionary would be required to understand a foreign language, a codec is required to understand the language used to compress the video.
MOV and AVI codecs are used to create the video recorded by the MiVue devices. These codecs allow the video files to be smaller, in turn allowing you to record more or longer videos on the device.
If a codec is missing in the system, the corresponding video file cannot be played and you will receive an error message.
Solution:
Most codecs are already pre-installed on recent computer operating systems and some additional codecs are included when downloading the latest version of MiVue Manager.
Please download and install the latest MiVue manager for Windows 7, 8 and 10 from HERE.
Please note: If there are still codecs missing please download and install the K-Lite codec pack from a trusted website.
Videos don’t show in MiVue Manager
Videos can either be accessed from your PC or from the MicroSD card inserted in your device. If the responding removable storage (MicroSD) can’t be found when browsing for folder, the device is not connecting to your PC.
Solution:
To fix this please check for any lose connections, if possible try to use a different USB connection port on your PC or different USB cable. We always recommend using rear USB connection ports for customers using a tower PC.
Alternatively the MicroSD card can be removed from the device and inserted in a card reader to connect it with the PC.
